Serving at FMC

We exist to bring glory to God by making disciples through gospel-centered worship, gospel-centered community, gospel-centered service and gospel-centered multiplication. This is our process for discipleship. Out of this gospel-centered service is the overflow of discipleship, serving those in and outside the church. One of the ways we pursue and live out this discipleship trait is through volunteer opportunities.

Student Ministries

Sunday Gatherings:

Those serving in our Student Ministry on Sundays get the opportunity to build and foster relationships with students, ministering them through the teaching of Scripture, worship and intentional discipleship.

Midweek Gatherings:

Student Ministries also meets together midweek for games, community, teaching and bible discussions. We start the evening together playing games and hearing a message, specially crafted for middle and high school students.

technical arts ministry

During our weekend service, the Audio and Video Team supports our worship experience by providing live camera shots of our platform activities that are live streamed to Facebook, recorded, and broadcast over the local cable system, and provides song lyrics so the choir and congregation can sing along during the musical portion of the program.

Our audio team is a critical part of our production, without them the congregation or viewers watching by television would not be able to hear. In either our house or broadcast sound positions, attention is key. Our sound operators control which microphones are mixed into the output that you hear. Anyone can be involved in producing great audio for those sitting in the congregation or watching on television.

Each week it takes 6 people to make our production happen and we are always in need of volunteers. Typically you are asked to serve one week a month.

If you are interested in being involved with this ministry, please see one of our team members on Sunday mornings.

Generosity

Donating your time is not the only way to serve at FMC. There are recurring costs to operating and staffing our ministry, as well as helping us do work throughout our community and the world. We believe that God calls us to give, and to give generously. We give you a chance to worship in this way on our website.

Discipleship

As Jesus left this world, his parting words to his disciples were: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you." We challenge you to be willing to serve and make disciples with us.  Whatever your spiritual gift, talent, or interest, there is a place for you to grow and serve at Philly First!
